APPARATUS definitely made a name for themselves when it comes to lighting design. Their color palette, use of leather, porcelain and marble in relationship to light is nothing short but distinctive. If you didn’t know their name, we’re pretty sure you’ve seen their work all over Pinterest for sure.
“THE STUDIO’S LANGUAGE IS ROOTED IN GEOMETRY AND CONTRAST, FUSING SCULPTURAL FORM WITH HAND-WORN MATERIALS THAT STRADDLE THE LINE BETWEEN THE PERFECT AND THE IMPERFECT. CONNECTING WITH A TRADITION OF STUDIO CRAFTSMANSHIP, EACH INDIVIDUAL FIXTURE IS CRAFTED BY HAND IN THE APPARATUS WORKSHOP.”
Last weekend I stopped by at their Milan showroom located in the heart of 5Vie neighborhood, a little design-oriented triangle in the city, filled with gems like this one. As soon as you walk in, plastered walls, velvet and moody lighting fill your senses. You’ll immediately get a hint of what Apparatus is all about.
Working in the fields of interiors, sometimes you can have the feeling that all products end up looking alike. Especially at the beginning of the year, when all new trends are unveiled during prime design season. With Apparatus, you can definitely see that they’re not following any trend and the uniqueness of their approach to product design can stand the test of time. We’d definitely recommend booking an appointment and paying them a visit.
Showroom open by appointment only.
